Sustainability is important to our family. From attending climate marches to our rigorous use of eco-friendly products – we make sure to take action and to have discussions on how we can be part of the change on a regular basis. We feel that the need to be sustainable has never been more urgent and is so important for future generations – and is something we want to be sure we instill in our son as he grows older.
We travel as often as possible, and find that that the industry seems a bit behind the mark on sustainability. Not all things we can fix today (such as the environmental effects from flying on planes that emit CO2) however there are major changes that can start as a family – such as remembering to pack our sustainable water bottles in our carry-on bags, and supporting brands who are taking a stand and making strides on travel related products. We were beyond thrilled to have recently discovered the new line of luggage and travel accessories by Brandless.
Brandless launches sustainable luggage
London Calling! Packing for our trip
Brandless, the company with a mission to create simple, high-quality products with the environment in mind, just launched its first-ever travel line. The chic sustainable collection includes a checked bag and carry-on luggage, travel pouch, travel organizer, belt bag, foldable backpack, tote, and packing cubes – all designed for any travel budget and most importantly to limit your environmental impact.
Brandless luggage is made from recycled water bottles
The entire line was made using recycled PET plastic. The collection as a whole keeps the equivalent of 80 (yes…80!!) 16-ounce recycled plastic water bottles from ending up in landfills or the ocean.
Convenient Pockets and dividers make packing a cinch
Lightweight and highly durable, the collection has taken in mind conveniences that I have only dreamed of in a luggage: Lots of handy-dandy pockets! There is a large, thing interior pocket that clicks together to hug your clothing and keep everything in place during travel.
We also loved the second zipper pocket in the top portion that can (brilliantly) separates other clothing from the main compartment. We found this great to pack and contain large coats and shoes from invading the clothing space.
Perfect for small spaces (I’m looking at you NYC apartments!), the checked suitcase and carry-on bag can be stored together and nestled (brilliant!). The lightweight shells with reinforced corners sit on 360-degree spinner wheels. Plus, they even come with TSA-approved locks to keep all of your belongings safe and secure,
Are you a messy packer like us? We also opted for the convenient packing cubes, which we were intending to use to pack small articles of clothing – but some of them ended up being the perfect organizer for our little guys toys and books. With these we can compress the softer items to create more room, and allowed us to keep (the very important!) toys and books separate, and easy to find in a cinch.
Prices for the accessories of the travel collection start at just $18,. The small carry on roller is $180 and the large roller suitcase is $220.
Love that the lock is embedded directly into the luggage.
The durable polycarbonate shell and 360-degree spinner wheels will help us zip through the airport is a breeze. Excited to test these in London in just a few days!
Ready to Roll!
