ARTECHOUSE NYC Current Exhibit – ASE:AFRO FREQUENICES

Current Exhibition: Ase: Afro Frequencies A profound and immersive exploration of the African diaspora’s cultural contributions through the innovative lens of digital art. Created by British artist Vince Fraser in collaboration with poet Ursula Rucker, this exhibition seamlessly blends traditional African symbols and contemporary digital media to celebrate and reflect on the power, spirituality, and identity of the African diaspora.

The term “Ase” (pronounced ah-shay) is a Yoruba word meaning the power to make things happen and produce change, which resonates deeply throughout the exhibit. Visitors are invited to engage with a series of interactive installations that utilize augmented reality (AR) and projection mapping to bring Fraser’s vivid and dynamic visuals to life. These digital creations feature motifs and themes from African heritage, including the richness of African textiles, the rhythm of African dance, and the profound symbolism found in African folklore and mythology. By immersing visitors in a world where past and future intersect, the exhibition empowers and inspires future generations to explore and celebrate their cultural identity through the powerful medium of digital art.
