Sometimes, there is something you hear about that is sooo New York, so incredibly cool, that you absolutely must run to go see it.
The newest art exhibit by Hanna Liden, is one of those occasions.
The oversized sculptures of every New Yorkers favorite doughy delight is an amazing sight.
Entitled Everything, the bagel art amazement has 3 different outposts located in the Village. We visited the largest of the three, located at Christopher street and the Hudson River. And it is everything (ahem) and more than I was hoping it would be.
Knowing that these bagels are larger than life (and larger than any carb should ever be) we knew that this art adventure was going to be special.
We decided to take it a step further.
We decided to eat a bagel while sitting on bagel. When else will we ever get this opportunity?
And when else will I get the chance to say that last sentence?
With google as my trusty guide, we located Hudson Bagels, only a few blocks from the bagel structures.
Two bagels with crème cheese to go – we were sitting on the bagel art within minutes.
It felt so New York. Gazing at the skyline on one side, the Hudson on the other, enjoying a deliciously warm everything bagel, all while sitting on a bagel, it felt like… well everything.
It was such a quintessential, pinch me now, only in New York, moment.
Lil Kid loved it. He realized immediately what they were upon seeing the exhibit… “Mommy! Mommy! Bagel! Look – there! See! Bagel!” He was ecstatic. Holding up his own doughy treat he proudly announced to anyone who was listening “See, they are the same!” Climbing around on the bagels, counting the towering stacks, and playing with the seeds, he had a blast.

Gotta love New York.
