Getting into the ‘spirit’ at the incredible Bronx Zoo’s fest – Boo at the Zoo!
A favorite zoo of our families, but our first year attending the Boo at the Zoo event. And it was Spook-tacular!
Held only on October Weekends – the Bronx Zoo transforms itself into a Halloween adventure for this amazing fest. Packed with activities including Halloween crafts, hay mazes, pumpkin carving demonstrations, magic and music performances, costume parades, trick or treating and even roasted marshmallows! Fall fun has never been better.
Dressing up is optional but not for this costume-obsessed family. Lil Kid chose a costume from his all-time favorite show – Curious George.
Our Lil Man in the Yellow Hat loved it! He had a blast visiting all the ‘creatures’ of the zoo and enjoying their Halloween activities. Such a unique experience!
First stop – to the Children’s Zoo! Never seen a prairie dog with a yellow hat before?
So funny to see the hat pop up from the ground.
Popping in for some shell fun.
How often do you get a chance to hold a chicken?
A special treat – we turned the corner and saw one of our all time favorite characters – Snoopy!
Lil Kid posing with Snoopy! He was so excited to meet him.
All treats and no tricks here!
Lil Kid (sneakily) grabbing two pieces of candy.
Roasted Marshmallows?! Love that they offer this. Living in the city we don’t have too many opportunities to roast a marshmallow. Such a treat!
Daddy helping to roast. Was delicious!
The famous Bronx Zoo Bug Carousel! Perfectly themed for Halloween.
Jumping for a ride on the Praying Mantis.
Tongue out! Lil Kid’s signature expression.
The gorgeous grounds were meticulously decorated for Halloween.
Next: Creatures of the Planet: Jack O’ Lantern Illumination! This wild walk-through exhibit features over 1,000 hand carved jack-o-lanterns in animal portraits and displays.
Such amazing detail. Was a little spooky, but not too spooky for even the littlest goblins. So fun!
Such a spook-tacular day!
