Disney is Magic. Whether visiting a theme park setting, watching one of their incredible movies, or sharing a story with the family – there is magic to Disney, and everything Disney does. A simple mention of the word “Disney” brings an instant smile to the face, and an excitement that can not be tamed. We are drawn in again, and cant get enough of the Disney Experience.
A huge smile on my face – look who I met in New York City!What creates this experience? Disney is the ultimate storyteller. Through the careful use of theatrics, music, characters and the incredible attention to detail – Disney tells a story that we want to be part of, and that we want to experience. Here-in lies the magic that transforms a theme park, a movie experience, and even Social Media. The magical Disney storytelling experience that resonates with all ages.
We were recently invited to the Disney Social Media Moms On The Road Event in New York City to learn more about the magic of storytelling through Disney’s Social Media, and upcoming events at their amazing theme parks. Read on as we go behind the ears at this fun event!

Disney Social Media Moms On The Road is an invitation only, on-the-road mini version of the Disney Social Media Moms Conference. I was honored to be invited to the celebration in New York City – which included presentations from several key Disney representatives who shared their advice, tricks, and tips that help create Disney’s Social Media magic, as well as new developments in communications and technology. The conference also included a panel of celebrities (yes – Mickey AND Minnie!), inspirational speakers and a dynamic line-up of industry experts – all speaking to the world of Social Media, and blogging.
We learned a few key tips for storytelling experiences:
- Find your niche. Focus on content you are knowledgeable about.
- Be true to your passion. Love what you do.
- Experiment with content. Try something new.
- Disrupt. What can you create that’s different and disruptive.
- Have Fun! (always right?!)
It was a magical day of learning and experiencing all things Disney – and for connecting with some of my favorite influencers and bloggers who I rarely get to see. The Disney Community is truly just as magical as the parks themselves.

There’s plenty of magic planned for Disney Theme Parks, and we were all ears during the sneak-peak presentation from the Disney Social Media Team of the latest happenings! Let’s take a look at the few exciting things we heard:

- Disney Skyliner gondola system is well on its way at Walt Disney World, and will connect various parks and resorts. Can’t wait to try this fun Gondola in Fall 2019!
- Adventures by Disney, which offers Immersive hassle free experiences now in 6 continents, has announced that in 2020 they will transport guests to Egypt! (So exciting – Can you imagine Disney Magic at the Pyramids!?)
- A Slam Dunk of Fun for all ages is opening soon at Disney Springs! Live out your Hoop fantasies at the NBA Experience, with dozens of interactive and immersive experiences. The NBA Experience will be opening this Summer! (and tickets are already available HERE).
- Animal Kingdom will soon be opening a new Lion King Live show! Even more wild excitement -Walt Disney World has announced the newest member of their family at Animal Kingdom: a baby gorilla, Baby Grace was born May 1st at Animal Kingdom.
- We can’t wait for this one! A new Guardians of the Galaxy themed roller coaster – said to the worlds longest enclosed rollercoasters (!) – will be opening at Epcot in 2021
- A new Ratatouille attraction, inspired by the Disney|Pixar Film, will be coming to Epcot’s France Pavilion! Called Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure – it is set to open in 2021.
- Illuminations Reflections, the firework show at Epcot, will close on Sept 30th. The next day, on October 1st, a new dazzling firework and special effect spectacular called Epcot Forever will open.
