Live Colorfully – NYC Holi Hai

What an incredibly colorful time at the Holi Hai festival – the annual Spring Fest that celebrates life in color! With live music, Bollywood dancers, food stands, and incredible Manhattan views to discover, there is no better fling to celebrate spring!

What exactly is Holi Hai?  It is a Hindi phrase which translated means “It’s Holi!  It celebrates the coming of spring, fruitful harvests, unity, joy, and a tale from the Bhagavad Gita. Holi has its origins in Hindu mythology and over the years has come to be celebrated traditionally every spring by throwing vibrantly colored powder (Holi Gulal) at each another.

NYC Holi Hai captures the essence of Holi by spreading messages of love, diversity, inclusion, and equality for all through color. The main theme of this festival is to have fun, leave your worries behind and celebrate new beginnings.

Holi Hai – The Happiest Festival of New York

Excited to experience the happiest festival of New York!

Choosing our favorite colors!

What is in the powder? The powder is environmentally certified and degradable, made of natural dyes and free of allergens. The base is made of rice flour. It is completely safe to be absorbed into the ground, water supplies, and…

…of course completely safe to be thrown around!

While not the first year for the festival, this was the first time this amazingly colorful fest was held on Governor’s Island.  With the island’s beautiful green spacing and incredible Manhattan views, there couldn’t have been a better venue for the festival.

Holi champions diversity and equality for all, bringing together people from all backgrounds, cultures and age groups (and even fur friends too!).

Recommended attire is white,  because the amazing technicolor shows up best on light fabrications.

Just know that everything will end up being covered in amazing color!

A colorful party experience that we will never forget. Until next year Holi Hai!
