London Calling – Exploring London with London Pass

We recently hopped across the pond for some fun in London. My fourth visit, but never before with kids. I was so excited to see one of the world’s greatest cites from a child’s perspective.

As always, we had an ambitious list of places to visit. Adding up the cost of these individual tickets became quite pricey – and as our list was so lengthy – we also didn’t want to commit to a specific time and date for the visits. Our explorations are never exact – and we don’t want to rush through a certain exhibit or attraction if our little guy was enjoying himself – which makes planning the ticketing for a trip tricky to say the least.

We were ecstatic to learn of London Pass through a recommendation and to hear that the pass gives you access to over 80 of the best tours and attractions in London. Even better, There’s never a queue with London Pass and it has the easiest entry (just scan and go!).  No tickets. No Hassle. Just sightseeing. Isn’t that how a vacation is supposed to be?

Read on as we discover just how stress-free exploring can be with London Pass.

Behind the Pass

Upon learning of London Pass I was curious to see who was behind the services. I was excited to learn that the London Pass is owned and operated by the same team behind The Paris Pass, The Berlin Pass, and drumroll – our favorite, The New York Pass (which of course operates in our hometown of NYC!). These guys are the real deal, and have incredible connections at the best city institutions. I knew already that we were in great hands.

Scan and Go

Simple and easy – exploring a new city has never been easier. London Pass works on an App for your phone. Once a ticket is purchased, you simply show the London Pass app screen at the entrance or ticket office of any attraction, where they will scan the code. From there – in you go! Most attractions allow you to pass the queue with the app –which means you head straight inside and start enjoying the attraction without anything further needed. It has never been so easy to get in and out of attractions quickly and efficiently.

Travel Agent in Your Pocket

As we were traveling to London to compile book inspiration, we were really digging into each experience and trying to soak up as much information on each as possible. I loved that with London Pass I was able to learn so much about each visit straight from the app – such as fun facts and a mini history lesson. The app also suggested places that I hadn’t discovered with my research – such as the Chelsea Physic Garden and The Cartoon Museum. Not a planner? The London Pass offers itinerary suggestions as well. It’s seriously like having a mini ticket agent and travel companion right in your pocket.

Pass Highlights

With the London Pass we were abl to get so much more from our visit. A highlight of some of our favorite experiences:

Tower Bridge: We toured inside the famous London landmark and braved the glass bottom walkway across the Thames River. An experience we will never forget! Regularly 9.80 per person

London Transport Museum. We explored London’s iconic transportation (such as the double decker red bus and the Underground) at this unique and interactive museum dedicated to British Transportation.  Regularly 18.00 per person.

London Bridge Experience & London Tombs: A tour through the vaults of London Bridge that included an educational scare-fest. Part theater production, part history lesson – this one was an awesome (albeit) a quite scary experience. Great for thrill seekers who aren’t afraid of haunted scenarios. Regularly 28.95 per person.

The Postal Museum: This museum allowed for us to step inside and learn about the iconic British Postal service. Fun tip: this museum allows visitors to ride INSIDE one of the Mail Rail’s cars through the underground miniature tunnels (seriously – incredible!). Regularly 16.00 per person.

Westminster Abby: When visiting London you must get in on some of the Royal action! Possibly the world’s most famous church for being the official royal wedding venue and where British monarchs have been crowned for centuries. Regularly 23.00 per person.

Offers and Discounts

While the above showcases just a few of the attractions – its important to note that London Pass also offers various discounts to restaurants and cultural attractions as well. At time of writing – London pass was offering discounts at a number of West End Theater shows as well as restaurant promotions to pass holders. We used our pass during one of our meals and saved money off the bill.
