More than just an iconic design, the hotel features not one, but two gorgeous pools for its guests, a stunning lobby, lovely beach side amenities, and an ambience that you will never forget. Read on to discover why The Gabriel South Beach is the place to stay while exploring Miami.

The Gabriel South Beach – Art Deco Elegance

Behind the Hotel – The Gabriel South Beach

The Gabriel South Beach found a second life (and its current name) when it was re-imagined as a 132-room boutique hotel in 2021.The hotel comprises 4 historic buildings, including the iconic Park Central Hotel. Known as the “Blue Jewel of Miami” because of its bright blue paint and neon lighting, the Park Central Hotel was built in 1937 and designed by master architect Henry Hohauser. In its heyday the famous hotel was a favorite Miami Beach destination for Hollywood royalty including Clark Gable, Carol Lombard and Rita Hayworth. Today the Park Central Hotel sign still greets guests as they enter the lobby, as a nod to the building’s iconic history.

Ocean View from the Roof Deck

Location

This is the best of both worlds – you will not find a better location! The hotel is just a few blocks to bustling action of South Beach, and directly across the street from the ocean. We loved that we could walk everywhere. At The Gabriel South Beach you can step out the front door and onto Miami’s legendary strip, bustling with local culture, sidewalk cafes, boutique shops, and Art Deco architecture. Guests can walk across the street to the Hotel’s beach area with cabanas, games, and chairs. It’s easy to enjoy Miami’s beach scene when it’s located just outside your door.

More to see – Española Way, and Collins Avenue are only a few blocks away. A short drive or Uber drive will bring you to Wynwood, Brickell, Jungle Island and Midtown.

A variety of rooms are offered, including oceanfront suites and balcony terraces. We stayed in an ocean view room and had the most glorious sunrise view from our window.

Hotel Amenities

Hotel services and amenities include a courtyard bar, in-room dining, fitness center with Peloton Bikes, spa services, concierge services and more; but the Gabriel South Beach makes its biggest splash with its stunning swimming pools.

A rare amenity for a historic Ocean Drive Art Deco property, the Gabriel South Beach has not one, but two pools, including a show-stopping, glass bottom pool on the roof with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. The Gabriel plays to its Miami art beat. Mr. Brainwash’s five-story mural that leads up from the lobby entry to the glass-bottom pool.

There’s also an (equally stunning) zero entry pool in the garden. The pools are open daily from sunrise to sundown. We visited the pools in the morning and had them completely to ourselves.
