Lil Kid exploring the incredible art installation piece on the shores of Rockaway Beach.
Part of MoMA PS1’s Rockaway series, the artist Katharina Grosse transformed the decaying Aquatics building at Fort Tilden National Recreation Area into the exhilarating piece with an incredible paint technique.
The desolate building is situated between sweeping sand dunes.
The house sits Oceanside, and is only steps from the Fort Tilden beach.
Lil Kid exploring the installation. The building is most definitely in ruin, with broken roof, leaning walls, and decaying exterior.
The red and white colors blend perfectly together in beautiful harmony – creating a dreamlike scene where graffiti ruin once stood.
Entering the building. (Note: There are signs that say ot to enter.)
Lil Man and Pink Sand
The reflection of the painted walls cerates a serene pink sand underfoot.
Follow the red and white painted road – this is one exhibit not to be missed.
