Lil Kid, Big Amusement Park! We made it! He couldn’t wait to enter and start the fun!
We had a surprise for Lil Kid when we arrived….
Breakfast with Elmo and friends was waiting inside! Is there a better way to start your day?
A full breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, yogurt, tator tots, and more is offered to all guests. During the meal your favorite furry friends come to each table for hugs and perfect photo opps.
Furry friend Zoe stopped by to say hi!
And our favorite Blue Monster stopped by too!
Not sure if Lil Kid was happy about Burt!
Elmo was stationed at a Sesame Place backdrop, for perfect picture taking fun.
Who doesn’t love Elmo?!
A Family Furry Hug!
Lil Kid Tip: Breakfast starts at 8:45am, before the park is open to the public. Guests who book the character breakfast can enjoy the following rides at 9:30AM prior to regular park opening: Sky Splash, Slimey’s Chutes, Teeny Tiny Tidal Wavepool and Silly Sand Slides (read: NO LINES! and absolutely worth having the park to yourself for a half hour)!
Empty water park just for us! Amazing!
Sesame Place is approximately 50% water park, 50% amusement park. There’s plenty of fun to choose from!
The water park portion offers numerous cool ways to cool down – from slides, lazy rivers, water playgrounds and spraygrounds, there’s something to float everyone’s boat!
Teeny Tiny Tidal Wave – the perfect spot for little ones to wade in shallow water.
Rather play in the sand? They have that too.
Lil Kid’s favorite – Big Birds Rambling River! A gentle “lazy river” where you can float down a river in a tube.
Lil Kid Tip: Don’t forget to bring a towel from home! No towels are offered from the water park.
Ernie and his favorite bathtime friend, Rubber Ducky, was everywhere of course! Love all the careful attention to detail seen throughout the amusement park.
And then there’s this – The Count’s Splash Castle! The amazingly large bucket at the very tippy top dumps out an immense tidal wave of water, to the delight of children and families. You could literally spend an entire afternoon just in the Count’s land alone!
Look who we found! Do we like the Count? Let’s us count the ways….
What would an amusement park be without games? There are a number of fun family games as well, including ring toss, fishing, water gun fun, and more.
Lil Kid of course got into the action!
An apple a day keeps the doctor away! Time for a lunch break! There are a number of food options throughout the park, offering everything from burgers, fries, sandwiches, salads, pizza, and even a sweet stop offering Cookie Monsters favorite snack.
Lil Kid tip – Look for the Children’s Menu option on the menu. Kids meals are reasonably priced and include an entrée, side, and drink, as well as a souvenir plate and cup to take home.
After lunch we toured the rest of the park. We loved the Sesame Neighborhood – which is a recreated Sesame Street neighborhood, as seen on the show!
Complete with Fruit Stand!
Look who was visiting the neighborhood too – Zoe! All the Sesame Street friends can easily be found throughout the park at different stations during the day.
Many of the character photo opps have professional photographers who will take your picture if you wish – but all allow for you to take your own picture from your camera or phone as well.
Ride Time!
Around and Around we go! Loving Elmo’s Cloud Chaser swings!
The amusement park portion of the park has many ride options for thrill seeking fans. From carousels, to rollercoasters, swings, to slides, and spinning fun – theres something for everyone.
All rides at the park are geared for children 3 and over. Each ride has specific height rules – but generally – if the child is under 42″ tall, they would need to be accompanied by a supervising companion.
Up up and away in the Flying Fish ride!
Our Lil Monster loved Monster Land too! All the rides in this portion are in honor of our favorite monster in blue – Cookie Monster!
Out of all the amazing rides and things to do, Lil Kid LOVED the Monster Clubhouse best. He must have climbed this funhouse at least twelve times!
A little break from the sun – we headed inside to see Elmo the Musical LIVE!
Music, imagination, and math add up to one amazing stage show! (Included with admission!) Love that the cute stadium, with theater seating, doesn’t have a bad seat in the house. Check the schedule for times. Warning: Be sure to get there a little early. The small theater fills up quickly!
Lil Kid Tip: Try to snag a seat next to the center aisle. Elmo (and a few special guests!) enter and exit through the aisle during the show – and give high five to little fans!
Be sure you don’t miss this big party – the Neighborhood Street Party Parade! We loved watching this energetic block party march down Sesame Street. The parade had 11 larger than life floats, dancers, music, acrobats, and of course all the favorite friends, including: Elmo, Murray, Count Von Count, Bert, Ernie, Abby, Zoe, Cookie Monster, and even Big Bird!
Front row seats go quick, be sure to arrive early for the best seat.
Lil Kid Tip: There is not much seating along the parade path. Use your towel that you brought from home as a blanket for the ground! Not only will help to claim a spot, the towel will protect from the dark colored concrete that heats up in the warm summer sun.
Bert and Ernie dancing away!
This daily “Street Party” will be sure to get everyone in a fun mood through 3 show-stopping shows with amazing tunes! Kids learn about letters, numbers and friendship through the parade’s show-stopping performances and 11 larger-than-life floats.
Such an amazing day on the street!
