Top of the World – Top of the Rock

On top of the world at Rockefeller Plaza!

Autumn in New York is magical. As Central Park had recently hit her foliage peak – we took a trip to Top of the Rock for a view from the Top.

And what a view it was!

High above the streets of New York on the 67th, 69th, and 70th floors of 30 Rockefeller Plaza, the incredible 3 tiered observation deck has awe inspiring views of Manhattan and beyond.

Upon exiting the fun elevator ride – Lil Kid ran right up to the glass to see the view.

“Mommy! Mommy! Look – New York!”
His excitement was contagious. His joy palpable. His comments adorable.

“This is your home sweetie. We live here!” He looked at me and smiled.

I’ve lived in Manhattan for 14 years, and views like this still make my heart skip a beat. The city is incredible. There’s no where else that compares.

And at his young age, it’s clear he believes this too.

Looking North to Central Park is breathtaking. The golden colors of fall bouncing off of the windows of Manhattans best is a wonder. A work of art in itself.

“What is that for?” Lil Kid was mesmerized by all the working (and rotating) fans and equipment on top of many of the buildings.

Up to the 69th observation deck. The gorgeous tiled directionals caught Lil Kid’s eye. “I see an E! And that’s a W!”

One more level to the 70th floor. A much more narrow passage and smaller terrace than the other floors, but without glass.

The spectacular, panoramic view without glass.

Back to the 68th floor – waiting for the elevator to return us to ground level. One more glimpse through the window.
