Meeting the wild cast of Endangered! the Musical
Behind the Zoo
Initially, this eco-musical was commissioned by the Friends of the National Zoo-Smithsonian in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington, and debuted at The Kennedy Center. The New York City show is housed in the Davenport Theater, a remodeled firehouse in the heart of Manhattan’s theatre district.
Showtime at Endangered! The Musical
Show Time
The theater is intimate and unique – and has only 10 seats across each of the rows. Unlike other theaters – the space was intimate, inviting and absolutely perfect for kids. Bonus – there isn’t a bad seat in the house! For any wild hunger pains – right outside the theater doors there is a very small snack counter with candy bars, chips and water.

Endangered! The Musical
Inspiring and fun, ENDANGERED! is a multi-cultural, international, multi-species musical about a social media savvy Kid reporter and a group of famous endangered animals from around the globe. Stranded at the zoo when an unexpected superstorm hits the city, the Kid and the endangered animals must quickly learn to understand and respect each other, while working together to save themselves.
The show was fantastic. The talented cast was incredible and took their specific animal roles to the next level. We especially loved the choreography, and humorous references to mega-star, Beyonce. The show has interactive elements – including a couple times when the cast came off stage to perform in the audience, which was great for keeping the little ones (as well as adults) engaged and on the edge of their seats. Not only a fun show – the story line is quite educational too, with emphasis on teaching how our choices have an environmental impact on our animal friends around the globe. Our favorite part of the musical – was the catchy musical scores that we now know by heart! Even now, a couple days after, we find our selves singing these fun melodies.
Uplifting and enjoyable for creatures of all ages – this show is one not to miss!
